The Student Services Team at Carshalton and Merton Colleges cover a broad range of cross-college initiatives. All aspects of the student journey, from pre-entry to post-exit, are impacted on by the Team’s work. From initial contact and marketing/information, advice and guidance delivery, the Team supports all students to maximise their potential.

As our Careers Adviser, you will provide effective impartial information, advice, and guidance to all students regarding future study and career choices. You’ll provide IAG to students through drop-in or 1-2-1 appointments, as well as through sessions requested by Tutors on their courses. The Careers Adviser will also manage the electronic UCAS application process and support students with personal statements and student finance.

With a Level 6 Guidance qualification, you will have experience of working as a Careers Adviser, providing careers advise to a diverse range of students, particularly students with learning disabilities and/or difficulties. You will have knowledge of the UCAS application process and have experience of delivering guidance to Higher Education students.

With excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you will provide a professional service and have an awareness of the need for discretion and confidentiality. You will be a good team member, able to prioritise own workload and have strong general IT skills to effectively market and record all service provision.
