TEACHING ASSISTANTS / LEARNING FACILITATORS
Full-time, term-time only (39 weeks per year)
Hours: 8.45am to 4.15pm, Monday to Friday
Salary: £15,920.36 to £16,678.06 (FTE £20,066 to £21,021) per annum
The College is seeking to appoint enthusiastic and hardworking Teaching Assistants / Learning Facilitators to join the College’s Learning Support Department. The successful applicants will be required to work with staff and students on a variety of college courses to support student learning, as well as on a one-to-one or small group basis.
The posts are available from 1 September 2022 on a permanent full-time, term-time only basis.
Previous experience of working with teenagers is desirable, but not essential. The post holders will spend a significant amount of the working day interacting with students, including covering lessons, so the ability to feel confident in the presence of and communicating with young adults is essential. The roles require an appreciation of working within an educational context supporting learning.
The post holders will be required to work with students with mild to complex learning needs. Whilst experience in this area is desirable, a basic appreciation is essential. The posts require commitment and flexibility in the approach to work, with the ability to remain calm at all times. Occasional evening work is required for which time off in lieu will be given.
