We have an exciting opportunity available as a Senior Scientist at a novel biotechnology company based in the Oxford area. This is a fantastic role for a scientist looking for a more diverse and challenging role in protein characterisation where they will have the opportunity to get involved in a wide rage of techniques/equipment covering early research right through to late stage clinical. The Senior Scientist will also be encouraged to develop line managerial skills and get involved in publications.
*Responsibilities*
* Develop Characterisation methods for the company product rage including peptide mapping (LC-MS and MS) and intact mass analysis methods
* Design and conduct biochemical characterisation, chemical stability and compatibility studies of biologics and drug products
* Support drug substance and drug product impurity characterisation and identification
* Perform protein sequence and post translational modification identification including glycosylation analysis
* Write study protocols and reports
* Independently test and increasingly lead lines of investigation to propose new experiments based on emerging data and other information.
* Share knowledge with the wider team and across departments representing the department both internally and externally.
* Act as a mentor or manager to other colleagues especially with new hires. (Optional)
* Provide technical guidance to others within the team on effective use of equipment and recommend acquisition of new equipment when relevant.
* Communicate and present research findings at meetings with colleagues, senior management and partners
*Requirements*
* Experience with HPLC based peptide mapping methods and mass spectrometric characterisation of recombinant proteins or antibodies
* Experience of glycosylation analysis of recombinant proteins or antibodies
* PHD, MSc or BSc education
