Faculty / Directorate

The People and Organisational Development (POD) Directorate supports DMU in attracting, developing and retaining staff, facilitating high standards of organisational performance and providing support to colleagues to ensure a quality student experience. As a People Service, we offer Human Resources, learning and development, support for recruitment and retention, strategic change projects, policies, procedures and guidance on equality, health and wellbeing.

Role

We are seeking to appoint an experienced administrator who will be required to provide a high standard of administrative support to the Director and Deputy Director of POD for a period of 12 months as maternity cover. The successful candidate will manage their emails and diaries and will provide wider administrative support where necessary. This role is on a fixed term maternity cover, full time (37 hours per week).

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have a high level of experience in Microsoft applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams as well as other Office 365 tools. They will be a motivated, organised and professional individual who enjoys working in a busy environment and who can demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels of an organisation.

They will have previous experience in supporting and organising events and can demonstrate that they are able to prioritise their work and are able to handle issues of sensitivity and confidentiality. In return we offer the opportunity to be part of a welcoming, innovative, and thriving department.
