Are you a someone who enjoys working in a varied and challenging environment? Node4 is currently looking for a Data Centre Engineer who is ready to come in and work with the Data Centre team to provide excellent service to our customers and colleagues.

Our Data Centre Engineers look after all day-to-day activities, ensuring a secure, safe and effective operation within the Data Centre. They will complete due diligence checks of the operating infrastructure, escalating any issues when they arise, responding to faults and alerts for the data hall and site infrastructure.

Based on an 8-hour shift, within core hours of 7:00-19:00 on site. Some night and weekend work is required, covered by an on call rota. An hourly rate for being on call and overtime paid for any work required.

What will you be doing?

* Daily checks of all infrastructure, addressing or escalating any faults and anomalies that are found.

* Ensuring Service Desk and other Node4 engineers working within the DC are following best practice procedure and work is completed in line with company policies.

* Completing data cabling & patching, removal of old cabling. Highlighting any damaged cabling or cabling risks that need proactively addressing.

* Data Centre BMS management and monitoring.

* Managing comms provider engineers when onsite for surveys or installation work.

* Continually strive to improve processes and site setup, deliver excellent service as a standard to colleagues and customers alike.

* Liaise with infrastructure service engineers when onsite, following and understanding RAMs to ensure the environment is kept safe throughout, that the work is completed correctly, and the area is clean and tidy upon completion.

What will you bring?

* At least three years' experience and a good understanding of Data Centre infrastructure.

* Good cabling experience and best practice knowledge.

* Copper and fibre termination skills.

* Strong ability to work solo or as part of a team.

* Someone who takes pride in their work and has a desire to deliver excellent customer service.

* A proactive approach to work and good attention to detail

* Within 1 hours travel time from the Wakefield office
