An Ofsted graded 'good' SEN School in Coventry are hoping to employ three Psychology Graduates to work as teaching assistants on a long-term basis for the duration of the academic year (starting September 2022). The role will involve supporting young people with Autism Spectrum Condition and Social, Emotional, and mental health difficulties on a 1:1 and small group basis. This is an excellent opportunity as it will enable the successful applicant to put their degree into practice.

This school caters for young people between the ages of 4-11 who have a range of special educational needs such as Autism and associated needs. Some of the children may require assistance with personal care, so you must have a willingness to support with this element of the role. Also, some children can display verbally and physically challenging behaviour, therefore additional training such as Team-teach would be beneficial; Teaching Personnel offer this training.

The successful Psychology Graduates for this full-time position will have a good theoretical understanding of Psychology and Special educational needs. School is happy to consider applicants without formal experience, but you must be confident, resilient, and have a genuine desire to help young people with SEN progress.

Residential care work
Community based work

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
