Mademoiselle Desserts are a leading manufacturing of frozen cakes and desserts. Our site in Taunton is recruiting for an experienced Production Manager
Role Purpose
Reporting to the Site Manager you are responsible for leading the relevant areas to achieve their performance targets.
Working as part of the site operations management team to deliver operational objectives, you are responsible for all activities within your department.
Leading by example in promoting a safe and harmonious working environment in line with the Company s policies and procedures.
Drive continuous improvement through maximising operational effectiveness, labour utilisation and efficiencies whilst reducing costs through the development of people, processes and systems.

Principal Accountabilities
Accountable for the safe and timely manufacture of quality product which meets customer specification.
Maintain and uphold all aspects of Company policies in particular standards of health and safety, quality, discipline, hygiene, communication and industrial relations.
Develop, train, coach and motivate staff.
Advise, recommend and implement any improvement to work methods which could improve productivity, performance or economy of operation.
Optimise staffing levels needed to run efficiently and deliver strategic profit improvement plans.
Ensure all relevant paperwork is completed and GMP standards adhered to.
Attend / chair team meetings as required and have clear strategies for good communication between management and operatives.
Any other duties and deputise as necessary as may reasonably be expected to meet the business needs
Hours of Work
40hrs per week Monday to Friday.
Sufficiently flexible in terms of hours of work to support and cover his or her team.
Training and Qualifications
Degree educated or equivalent
Minimum of 3 years management experience in a food manufacturing business
IT literate - PowerPoint, excel and word.
Lean Manufacturing experience.
Advanced Food hygiene Qualification.
IOSH / NEBOSHH qualification.
Project management experience.
