**Job Summary**
Charles River are looking for senior biophysicists with experience in the application of Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) for Drug Discovery at our Chesterford Research Park site, next to Cambridge, UK. This is an excellent opportunity for successful candidates to play an influential role in shaping the drug development programs in close collaboration with our clients. Working across multiple disciplines CRL Early Discovery scientists have helped deliver over 80 pre-clinical candidates. As part of a team at a world leading CRO, you will be investigating a wide range of therapeutic disease areas, target classes and various therapeutic modalities.
We are looking for top candidates who will have the opportunity to work and further career develop within our collaborative and fast paced dynamic CRO environment.
*Main Duties and Responsibilities:*
A lab-based role, you will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team responsible for providing biophysical data on protein-ligand binding across our Drug Discovery projects and presenting critical data to clients. Dependent on experience, other responsibilities will include key client contact roles, project management and strategic contributions for the Biophysics technologies and capabilities.
*Essential Requirements:*
• Ph.D or equivalent experience in the application of SPR
• Experience with SPR systems (preferably Biacore) and data processing (ideally in an industrial setting)
• Dynamic ability to work effectively on concurrent projects within multi-disciplinary teams
• Excellent communication skills and collaborative approach to interact effectively with, and present to, a wide range of stake holders
• Ability to trouble-shoot and deliver to deadlines
*Desirable Requirements:*
• Experience of other biophysical techniques
• Antibody characterisation using SPR
• Recombinant protein expression / purification
• Experience of client interaction
