We are working with a forward-thinking and well-renowned independent Security and Communications Company operating across the UK.
They specialise in driving digital transformation and integration across the life safety, security and communications industry.
Due to the company s continued success and growth, they are recruiting an Assistant Design Manager to join their design department in Mansfield.
My client designs, installs and maintains smart, reliable and highly-compliant fire protection, access control, security, intruder alert, CCTV and communications solutions.
The Assistant Design Manager with work in a highly professional design team for my client s customers, who include universities, estates, homes, public spaces and the Armed Forces.

For the right candidate, the role of Assistant Design Manager be a starting point and that having proven their ability they could progress to a Design Manager and eventually to a Head of Design role.
What will you be doing?
Assisting in the running the Design Department and team of designers
Production of design documents such as, Technical Submittals, Schematics and Layouts
Learning the processes, requirements, and responsibilities of managing a department
Preparation of designs and costing sheets
Ensuring designs fully comply with all applicable regulations and standards
What we re looking for
You will be an accomplished designer within the security industry with at least 5 years experience of producing designs.
Working knowledge of BS5839-1 & 6, RRO, and BS(phone number removed)
Knowledge of fire and security systems
Excellent IT skills and a familiarity with Microsoft software
A keen interest in technology and providing innovative solutions
Extremely high attention to detail
Preferred but not essential:
Familiarity with AutoCAD LT and Revit software packages
A knowledge of PD6662, NCP104, NCP109, BS8243, BS(phone number removed)-2, BS(phone number removed), Equality Act 2010, Building Regulations, CDM, Secure by Design, and relevant Codes of Practice
Experience of designing systems with high levels of integration
