The role

Rhodes House is undergoing a GBP38 million pound "Big Build" project to redevelop the House and create new world class conference facilities. The Rhodes Trust is seeking an experienced, commercially aware AV Manager to oversee the installation, operation and development of exceptional AV systems and services in our new conference centre and meeting spaces.As you start in post, you'll join the AV installation project, working closely with the appointed integrators to ensure that the new systems are installed and tested during the Autumn and Winter of 2022.During this time, you will also build an agile technical support network and develop service levels that build trust and confidence with stakeholders across the Trust as the new systems come online.As Rhodes House re-opens in Spring 2023 you'll work closely with events teams from the Rhodes Trust, Atlantic Institute, Schmidt Science Fellows, and RISE to support the development and delivery of world class in-person, hybrid and remote conferences, events and meetings for our international communities of Scholars, Alumni, Supporters and staff. You'll also support clients and events manager to develop and deliver compelling AV services for commercial events.As well as the management of AV systems, the AV Manager will have operational responsibility for the Atlantic Institute's Extended Reality (XR) Lab, and library of virtual and augmented reality systems and content creation equipment. Line managing the XR Technician (post to be recruited later in 2022) you will work closely with the Institute to support the development of the Lab and ensure excellent support for XR development workshops and XR events, supporting and covering the XR Technician's role for larger workshops or when they are on leave. A proportion of the XR Technician's time will also be available to support AV events.The role will be responsible for:Planning and Development of high quality and reliable AV systems and services for in person, remote and hybrid audiences.Installation, support and maintenance of AV, AR and VR systems, including asset and issue management.Supporting Events team colleagues in developing compelling events propositions, including the commercial offerings, and managing pricing and budgets for AV services.Event Development, planning, production & post-production staffing, services and support.User support, training, documentation and maintenance.Operational management of the AV department, including management of staff and equipment budgets, staffing schedules, line management of the XR technician and ownership of the relationship with freelance AV staff and event production companies.Building a sustainable financial plan for AV equipment and services that supports the Trust's commercial revenue and enables ongoing investment and the continuation of Rhodes House as a World Class events facility through well targeted innovation.Ensuring that all the Trust's health and safety protocols are adhered to during for all technical staff contacted or employed at the Trust.Role modelling the Trust's organisational values of commitment, inclusion, belonging, growth and innovationCarrying out any other duties as requestedBenefits of working hereWe are a global organisation and we use our deep connections across the world to bring together people of different backgrounds and viewpoints.
