About the role
Working as part of the Product Development team, this role will apply Electrical and Electronics engineering skills to lead the design and development of commercial products for use in applications ranging from small portable power devices to motive and industrial power systems.
Responsible for the delivery of work packages and implementation of engineering expertise in the electrical and electronic design aspects of fuel cell control systems.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring work packages are delivered on time, to a high quality standard and in line with the commercial, technical and safety requirements and that they comply with all relevant National, European and International standards on electrical and electronic circuit and system design.
About you
You will hold a BEng, BSc (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, or possess a relevant non-degree level qualification alongside suitable industrial experience. Typically, you will have 5 years of relevant industrial experience post completion of your degree. Membership of a relevant professional body, progressing towards chartered status is advantageous.
You will be able to demonstrate experience of delivering work packages applying the V model and/or other design methodologies, alongside experience of the application of DfX principles.
You will have a proven depth of experience and competence designing analogue, digital and power electronics, as well as demonstrable experience and competence designing high reliability, highly robust PCBAs to National, European and International Standards.
Design experience and capability of multi-layer power, analogue and digital PCBs with thermal management and EMC consideration is vital, as is knowledge of PCBA manufacture techniques and the associated design requirements both for prototyping and for volume production.
It is key to us that you have a commercial mindset and the ability to work with a flexible and solutions focused approach, in an agile and fast paced environment. You must also be able to work collaboratively with a cross-functional team alongside both technical and non-technical colleagues. As such, excellent communication skills are vital.
