OATS Recruitment are looking to appoint a Purchasing Assistant within a leading Manufacturing company in Westbury.
The successful candidate will interface with their internal Planning, Production, Sales, Design, Technical, Despatch and Finance teams, to ensure that both customer and company requirements are met.
Key Responsibilities
• Raise purchase orders for raw material and related products based on supplier lead times.
• Cross reference PO's with Order confirmations.
• Contact with suppliers to improve delivery dates and to meet production requirements.
• Book in deliveries with the warehouse.
• Monitor stock levels on the company site and at the supplier's site.
• Stock counting of raw material and accessories in Production.
• Raise supplier complaints.
• Work with all departments, Technical, Sales, Production and Transport.
• Assist Purchasing Manager where necessary.
Skills and Experience
• Confident.
• Reliable.
• Good Maths / numerical skills.
• Personal skills to deal with internal and external stakeholders.
• Quick thinking and a proactive problem solver.
• Efficient administrator and with strong IT skills.
• Ambitious to progress.
• Experience in manufacturing environment beneficial.
• General computer proficiency and sound administrative skills are essential.
The ability to manage a demanding workload and coordinate many activities simultaneously is essential. The successful candidate must be capable of working under pressure in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Working Hours
Monday - Thursday - 7 hours
9 am - 4:30PM (30-minute break)
OR
9am - 5PM (1 Hour break)
Fridays - 6.5 hours:
9 am - 4:00PM (30 -minute break)
OR
9am - 4:30PM (1 Hour break)
The hours are 34.5 hours a week, 30 minutes unpaid Lunch or 1-hour unpaid Lunch taken between 12pm - 2pm. To be determined by the department Manager and Employee prior to commencing employment.
Closing Date - 4th July
