About the role:
As our Technical Delivery Manager, you will work on complex requirements from varying sources (Business, PMO, Technical), often supporting dependencies and demand across a range of delivery teams. You will be working effectively under pressure with competing and rapidly changing priorities and ensuring the required standards within the specific constraints of Time, Cost and Quality are met.
Your responsibilities as our Technical Delivery Manager will include:
Ensuring for the development and maintenance of demand artefacts to support technical delivery ensuring adherence to the Vitality IT Operational Change Management Policies
Contributing to the wider community, providing technical leadership, coaching teams, promoting knowledge sharing and adoption of good practice and with excellent stakeholder and communication skills to rationalise cross-function priorities, ensuring that all parties are kept informed
Leading and driving improvements in your interactions, inspiring, motivating and coaching others in delivering to the required delivery methodologies and standards
Delivers reporting, with a focus on risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies
Working with Solution and Technical Architects to ensure designs meet functional and non-functional requirements
Raising Project risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies to the Project Manager/Portfolio/Demand Triage Function in a timely manner, offering mitigating actions and taking ownership of individual items where appropriate
What we're looking for in our Technical Delivery Manager:
A background working as a Technical Delivery Manager/Project Manager or Senior PMO in an organisation subject to regulation by the FCA and familiarity with audit and risk controls
A minimum of three years of Technical/Project Management experience implementing solutions on Cloud-based platforms, such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and across multi-data centre, geographic locations
A minimum of three years' experience in a medium to large-sized IT department, and strong technical knowledge of IT functions, systems, applications and processes
Demonstrable experience in coaching, mentoring and building high-performing teams
Project management qualifications: PRINCE 2 Foundation; PMP; Agile / Scrum Master qualifications
Demonstrable knowledge and experience delivering solutions for system integrations
Experience working in Agile, Small Change & Strategic Project environments
Effective skills in communication, negotiation, and persuasion
A high level of business acumen and commercial awareness
