To provide all aspects of technical authoring within the company, especially engineering, marketing and support, producing high quality supporting documentation that provides consistency in messaging across the organization.

Description

* Working with the project team to develop Technical Publication materials that accurately represent the product and meet regulatory needs.* Ensuring Technical Publication materials are produced in line with other project developments.* Maintaining and reporting Technical Publication project activities.* Checking the quality of print proofs.* Checking the layout and quality (not translation) of localized materials.* Carrying out authoring tasks and co-ordinate illustration, artwork and other tasks as necessary with internal and external resources to deliver quality products to meet the needs of each department concerned.* Liaising with Training Managers to ensure that all product documentation and training materials support organizational goals and Quality Management System guidelines.* Maintaining the Technical Publication repository and respond to queries on documentation.* Maintaining a good working relationship with suppliers.

Profile

* Degree (or equivalent) in engineering (electrical/optical/computing/software) or equivalent education gained through work experiences essential.* Previous experience and excellent knowledge of technical writing within an engineering/manufacturing background an advantage but not essential as full training will be provided.

Technical writing qualification advantageous.

* Ability to understand customer requirements, assimilate information from many diverse inputs, distil and present the information in an appropriate format for the intended audience.* Ability to design documents that work from a common base that can be configured for different products.* Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills.* Excellent experience of MadCap Flare (or equivalent) an advantage but not essential.* Experience working with Adobe Illustrator.* Experience working with Atlassian tools including Jira, Confluence and Bitbucket an advantage but not essential.* Appreciation of the importance of quality control and customer-driven service for internal and external audiences.* Ability to pick up an understanding of new technologies quickly.* Ability to manage multiple tasks and deal with changing priorities.* Awareness of the requirements of ISO 9000 and FDA certification.* Ability to work within tight deadlines and manage time effectively.* Strong team player with flexible attitude to work priorities.
