Salary: £18,699.20 

Hours: 36.25 hours per week 

Duration: 2-Year, Fixed Term Contract 

Location: Agile Working (mixture of working at home and our office based in Sale) 

Start Date: 12th September 2022

What do the team do?

The service desk team at Trafford Housing Trust comprises service desk analysts and technical support engineers. It is intended to provide a single point of contact to meet the communication needs of our colleagues.

The role

The duration of the role is a 2-year fixed-term contract to cover the length of the apprenticeship programme.

The Apprentice Service Desk Analyst will work within the Service Desk team, ensuring the delivery of a first-class service to our customers.

The main duties of the role include:

  • Provide maintenance work such as desk cabling, displays and printers. Also cleaning/organising IT workspace, equipment-based tasks such as stock admin, and testing office equipment
  • Technical Work involves fixing all parts of IT and building and distributing hardware and software.
  • Provide triage, standard fix and call fulfilment under the instruction of the service desk customer response team.

You will undertake a level 3 Information Communications Technician apprenticeship to support your development and chosen career path. Whilst undertaking your learning programme, your manager will help guide your development and day-to-day work, a mentor will provide extra support throughout your role, and you'll work alongside experienced colleagues to learn hands-on, work-based skills.

The candidate:

We look for the following in all our apprentices:

  • Enthusiasm for the role and THT.
  • Ability to understand and be understood, both in writing and verbally.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as being a good team player.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to learn and grow.
  • Acceptable standard of education, ideally GCSE's in English and Maths, Grade C / Grade 4 or above.

In addition, the following skills/experience are desirable for the role:

  • Adaptable to changing priorities to meet deadlines
