Job Vacancy – Apprentice Property Surveyor (Level 4/ higher apprenticeship)   

Salary: £20,829.25    

Hours: 36.25 hours per week  

Duration: 42-month, Fixed Term Contract 

Location: Agile Working (mixture of working at home and our office based in Sale) 

Start Date: 12th September 2022

What do the team do?

The Repairs and Voids team within the Property Services directorate provides repair/replace and maintenance services to ensure all our homes are well maintained and safe.

The role

The duration of the role is a forty-two-month fixed-term contract to cover the length of the apprenticeship programme.

The Assistant Property Surveyor Apprentice will work within the Repairs and Voids Team providing a first-class service to our customers.

The main duties of the role include:

  • Visiting domestic properties to assess/manage repairs, writing up schedules and specifications and invoicing repair work.
  • Carrying out technical site visits/post-inspections and looking after any customer queries.
  • Building, maintaining and managing relationships with contractors on site.

You will undertake a level 4, Construction Site Supervisor apprenticeship to support your development and chosen career path. Whilst undertaking your learning programme, your manager will help guide your development and day-to-day work, a mentor will provide extra support throughout your role, and you'll be working alongside experienced colleagues to learn hands-on, work-based skills.

The candidate:

We look for the following in all our apprentices:

  • Enthusiasm for the role and THT.
  • Ability to understand and be understood, both in writing and verbally.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as being a good team player.
  • Good organisational skills and ability to manage/prioritise own workload to meet deadlines.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to learn and grow.
  • Acceptable standard of education, ideally having gained a Level 3 Building Surveying/Construction qualification, plus GCSE’s in English and Maths, Grade C / Grade 4 or above.

In addition, the following skills/experience are desirable for the role:

  • Practical ability to solve issues
  • Knowledge of Microsoft packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Previous building maintenance trade/surveying experience would be preferable.
