Manufacturing Engineers Manager

Techniche are supporting a global manufacturing organisation with appointing a new Manufacturing Engineers Manager.

The organisation is a high-end engineering and manufacturing firm that develop, design and build luxury Motor Yachts. The production facility itself has 5 full vessel production lines. These span from Mould and GRP production, through to fitout, completion and commissioning of completed luxury motor yachts.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer who wants to take on management responsibility and lead a small department of existing Manufacturing Engineers. Whilst also maintaining hands on Continuous Improvement responsibilities for this vast production facility.

Responsibilities

• Day to day Management of the Manufacturing Engineering team.
• Creating work packages to include process steps and materials / components required.
• Validating and setting hours targets against process steps.
• Creating a standard set of synthetics for standard and optional work packages.
• Defining procedures and most efficient sequence for building / assembling a product.
• Creating reports to show status, efficiency ratings, forecasts and backlog / recovery.
• Sequencing parts specific for each workstream job package.
• Verifying and transferring the information to shopfloor reporting.

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience in similar role.
• Experience of construction or manufacturing assembly, low volume high complexity.
• Proven Leadership / Management experience in a manufacturing / engineering sector.
• Excellent Excel skills.
• Desirable - experience of ERP system.
• Desirable - marine experience.
