Senior Compliance Officer . Our client based in Bristol at Emersons Green near the junction of the M4 and M32 ( so commutable from Bristol ,Bath ,Chippenham ) are experts in the compliance industry; focussing mainly on the Motor Trade and Travel . They have one of the UK's largest regulatory networks with many retail sites across the UK benefiting from a range of Finance and Insurance services.
Role is based at their offices in Bristol, although remote working may be considered. Normal working hours are 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, although some flexibility is available. The role is currently on a hybrid basis with 5 in every 10 working days being spent in the office however, but this may change as COVID restrictions are eased.
Typically you could come from an insurance or consumer credit environment .

Job Purpose
The Senior Compliance Officer position is permanent and full-time, the successful candidate will report into the Compliance Manager and will work within the Compliance Department in collaboration with the rest of the business. They will also manage a caseload of Network Members and/or work with management to develop and review, as appropriate, the necessary oversight of the Compliance Network, through monthly checks, or quarterly where appropriate, ensuring they are operating within required regulatory standards and within their Compliance's risk appetite.
The caseload will comprise of Network Members who have both General Insurance and Consumer Credit permissions under the company .
What do I need to succeed?
•Be able to manage the Network Member relationship with a professional approach
•Have a proven track record of working within a risk, compliance or regulatory role, ideally demonstrating performance over a minimum of one year.
•Have good investigation and analytical skills, particularly when reviewing complex and ambiguous information.
•Be able to critically review and make judgements on the compliance of written and verbal communications against defined criteria.
•Have good organisational skills and ability to manage and prioritise individual workload.
•Possess good written, oral communication and presentation skills.
•Comply at all times with principles, ethics, commitments and codes of practice.
•Must achieve and maintain minimum levels of competency for all aspects of the role and as defined by company policy.
•Ensure awareness of and adopt and changes in regulatory practice and guidelines.
Desirable Skills and Experience
•Experience of working in a retail insurance or consumer credit environment.
•To adhere to good conduct and Treating Customer Fairly (TCF) ethos in all work activity.
•Understanding of the Motor and/or Travel industry sectors.
•Understanding of FCA rules and guidance, in particular DISP, PRIN, SYSC, SUP, CONC, ICOBS.
•Excellent computer skills.

Key Responsibilities:
Ensure your caseload of Network Members act within agreed company standards, whilst maintaining appropriate records including but not limited to:
•Monthly return checks including but not limited to:
•Ensuring all monthly returns are submitted within the agreed timeframes.
•Product Provider reconciliations to ensure all sales are being reported.
•Ensuring all regulated products being sold by the Network Members are recorded on the system.
•Monthly internal audit sale checks including but not limited to:
•Ensuring the customer's details are correct.
•Ensuring the correct regulated products have been selected.
•Checking the Network Member's use of the confident customer option.
•Monitoring the time taken by the Network Member to complete a regulated sale, ensuring this provides a customer with adequate time to receive and read the prescribed information.
•Ensuring the salesperson displays the correct level of conduct during the sales process.
•Completion of reviews (both insurance and consumer credit) to ensure suitability for Network Members and end consumers, ensuring compliance with relevant rules and guidelines (e.g. CONC, ICOBS, TCF) in relation to;
•Products.
•Pay plans.
•Financial Promotions.
•Websites.
•Call Monitoring (if appropriate).
•Responding to Compliance queries on behalf of your caseload of Network Members and company employees.
•Escalate any identified risks outside of risk appetite to the Compliance Manager.
•Collate management information and produce reports as requested by the Compliance Manager.
•Handle inbound/outbound calls to agreed company standards, whilst maintaining appropriate records.
