CAD Steelwork Draughtsman - Architectural Metalwork
Contract - 3 Months
Location - Bedfordshire
Salary - Negotiable Depending on Experience
A fantastic opportunity has arisen with one of our clients who are a metalworking company specialising in the design, manufacture, supply and installation of architectural metalwork. They also design structural steelwork (primary & secondary), bespoke and standard metalwork, sheet metalwork in both ferrous and non-ferrous metals, and a wide range of architectural glass and glazing systems. Typically, their product range encompasses balconies, balustrading, feature staircases, escape stairs, industrial access, glass canopies and light structural steelwork.
Due to continued expansion and a heavy workload, they are now looking for 2 experienced CAD steelwork draughtsman to join their growing fabrication drawing office. The ideal candidate will have a wealth of experience within the architectural metalwork steel detailing industry. One of the positions is AutoCAD 2D based and the other Tekla 3D. The salary is negotiable depending on experience levels. My client is also considering candidates who would like to relocate for the role should you think it is the right opportunity.
Responsibility & Duties
* Read & understand drawings by Structural Engineers and Architects drawings
* CAD Modelling using Tekla or AutoCAD software of structural and architectural steelwork such as portal frames, mezzanine floors, staircases, and balustrading.
* General Assembly drawings
* Assembly and part assembly drawings
* Liaising with clients, structural engineers, architects, and fabricators in workshop
Experience & Qualification
* Experience of AutoCAD/ Tekla
* Have had experience in the architectural metalworking industry
* Portfolio / Examples of construction drawings
* Update GA drawings to received site survey,
* Prepare Fabrication Drawing Package for production (GA's, Assemblies, Single Parts, DXF's & Schedules) Site Survey experience
* Applicants should be eligible to work in the UK.
* Liaise with customer, suppliers, design manager, site & workshop
* Balconies, Balustrades, Handrails, Steel Staircases, Structural Steelwork and various Sundry Metalwork detailing experience would be essential
