Service Engineer

This globally recognized leader of specialist capital equipment is seeking an electrically biased Field Service Technician to join their team. You'll will be required to travel nationally to install, commission, and repair high power heat treatment machinery which is supplied to the glass manufacturing industry. With a strong network of service engineers across the UK, the business is able to provide the very best service to all of its customers.

Responsibilities for the Service Engineer include -

• Nationwide travel to carry out installation & commissioning of purpose built machinery
• Carry out breakdown maintenance repairs both electrically and mechanically
• Routine service and inspection visits
• Fault find on Allen Bradley PLC's to work out faults and carry out corrective works
• Providing end user support to customers as well as training and equipment demonstrations

There is a robust training package which is largely based around job shadowing other engineers to learn the products, how they're built, but there will also be some overseas training in Finland during the probation period too.

To be successful in this position, we're looking for the following previous experience and skills- Previously a field service Engineer of capital equipment or heavy industry machinery - Hold a HNC or HNC electrical or electronic engineering - Have a solid understanding of PLC's and how to fault find- A strong knowledge of power supplies, controls and electrical test equipment is essential- Flexibility to travel nationwide, with occasional overnight stays- Clean drivers license
