Job Type: Permanent Full Time
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm (with half an hour unpaid break)
Salary Range: GBP33,000pa - GBP36,000pa (dependent on qualifications and experience) + bonus

The company's key markets are the supply and processing of specialist workwear to cleanroom (pharmaceutical, medical, aerospace) and manufacturing (steel making, engineering, automotive) organisations. The company also manufactures and distributes an extensive range of cleanroom consumable products worldwide. The company has an ambitious and clear growth vision and is currently building its first factory outside of the UK in India.

Job Role and Key Responsibilities

We're looking for an experienced Procurement Officer to join the business at an exciting stage in its growth plans. Demand for our products is currently unprecedented and therefore there is substantial scope for personal development and wider experience gain.

The role's key responsibilities include:

Develop and be responsible for the contracting of the strategic category of non-textile raw material and component supply in support of the Manufacturing business unit.
Lead product category and project reviews via market analysis, tenders, contract negotiations and successful implementation of supplier relationships. This includes UK and International suppliers.
Administer and monitor Purchase Orders and contractual arrangements, including but not limited to:
The raising and issuing of purchase orders to suppliers.
Assessment and review of supplier performance against KPIs and identification of opportunities within existing commercial/contractual terms.
The negotiation and re-contracting of extant supplier agreements.
Provide procurement advice and support to other teams via cross functional collaboration.
Effectively identify, monitor, and address supply chain risk in order to maintain appropriate stock levels and maximise business unit margin.
Lead by example and provide support to the Purchasing Administrator when needed.
Contribute to the performance of the company in accordance with our Business Objectives.

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications required:

Essential

Experience of Procurement activity within a manufacturing environment including planning, demand forecasting and inventory management.
Experience in importing goods, working with freight forwarders, related import documentation and administering associated costs.
Knowledge and experience of strategically working with suppliers and the principles of supplier performance management.
Knowledge and experience of cross functional/project working and internal stakeholder management.
Detail orientated - highly accurate, excellent attention to detail, ability to analyse and interpret data to influence stakeholders.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook; including the ability to manipulate data, use pivot tables, graphs and lookups.
Full, valid UK/EU driving license.
Willingness to travel within the UK and overseas.

Desirable

A registered Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS) or working towards Member status.
2:1 Degree (or degree equivalent) in Procurement related subject
Experience of working in Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Lifesciences or Cleanroom sector.
Experience and understanding of MRP systems.
Experience of purchasing and managing shelf life, regulated, batch/lot-controlled products.

Procurement Officer role - Employment Details

Between GBP33,000 per annum - GBP36,000 per annum (dependant on qualifications and experience)
Full-time, permanent employment, working Monday to Friday
Part of our Purchasing Department
30 days' annual leave (including bank holidays), increasing to 33 days for loyalty service.
Company Sick Pay scheme
