As Transport Coordinator you will be working for a progressive and successful privately owned manufacturing firm near Market Deeping. This is a new role created due to continued and planned future growth and you will take responsibility for their logistics and transport planning. Successful applicants must have previous experience in a similar role, working in a busy office environment and used to dealing with multiple projects simultaneously.
Responsibilities include:
* Oversee orders by area pre-empting delivery requirements in advance
* Schedule vehicles using the most economical and cost-effective routing including 3rd party methods
* Manage the company's vehicle deliveries
* Work closely with the operations manager to ensure planning of production and vehicle loading align with weekly/monthly schedule
* Booking in deliveries with customers to ensure optimal delivery arrangements
* Responsible for the coordination of carriers ensuring their adherence to agreed service levels
* Liaise with the Driver and the Customer in relation to delays and delivery issues
* Work with recruitment companies to hire drivers
* Communicating with drivers, ensuring they implement customers instructions, answer driver queries and action accordingly.
* Prepare delivery paperwork for both Driver and customers ensuring all statutory and legislative compliances are adhered to
* Analyse current route codes/delivery schedules
Key Skills/Attributes required
* Ability to work under pressure
* Commercially aware
* Sense of urgency and awareness of time bound processes
* Able to adapt to changing requirements
* Dealing with customers and resolving issues
* Experience of manual vehicle planning/scheduling
* Excellent knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, Transport operations systems and routing/scheduling software
* Strong geographical knowledge of the UK
* Attention to detail
