Due to new exciting design and development projects a new position has been created for a Systems Engineer to join the engineering group of this expanding company.
The role would suit a proactive and versatile systems engineer, electronics engineer or validation engineer that enjoys working in a fast-paced product development environment and likes to make things happen!
* This will involve defining and delivering sub-systems and/or full products and of implementation of DfX principles, in particular design for manufacture
* Supporting DFMEA / PFMEA analysis throughout the product development process
* Experience of assessing and selecting appropriate manufacturing processes would be needed
* Practical experience of electromechanical product development

The purpose of this opening is to apply systems engineering skills to lead the design and development of products ranging from small portable power devices to larger industrial power systems.
The company is involved with the design and manufacture of alternative energy products for the various markets (automotive, aerospace, etc). They have impressive labs, product test and validation facilities and a growing R&D team.
It would suit an experienced systems engineer that can bring different disciplines together, resolve complex problems and deliver products and solutions.
Skills / Knowledge required: Senior Systems Engineer
* A degree or higher in a relevant subject (e.g. electrical and electronic engineering, mechatronics, systems engineering, automotive engineering etc)
* Proven track record of working as a systems engineer, electronics engineer or validation engineer in a cross-functional engineering role within a product development environment (automotive, renewables, aerospace, etc)
* Practical application and knowledge of systems design engineering processes (e.g. V Model, Requirements capturing / setting, requirements definition, development of technical specifications etc.)
* Exposure to various aspects of the product development cycle (e.g. analysis, design, development, test, validation) and able to take products into manufacture
* Understanding of different technical disciplines (e.g. electronics engineering, embedded software, perhaps even mechanical engineering principles.) also DFMEA / PFMEA
* Confident with excellent communications skills, able to lead projects, tackle conflict situations and resolve complex engineering tasks by utilising different team members
* Organised and able to support change management, configuration and project management activities
* Able to work effectively with 3rd party suppliers and occasionally customers when required
Others:
* Knowledge of some of the following (alternative fuels, power electronics, thermal management, HV / LV electrical systems, embedded software, electronics packaging, high reliability engineering.)
* Experience of working within the automotive or aerospace sector would be beneficial
