Friday 7.45 - 12.45

My client is an extremely long standing firm based on the outskirts of Wigan, they have been established for almost 70 years and over the years they have expanded their manufacturing operation into the prestigious firm that they are today. This well-known and extremely reputable company has always been at the forefront of advances in design and development of their products which has led to their sustained growth and success.

As a Purchasing Manager, you will be working in a team of 3 people, and you will offer advice and assistance to staff in the purchasing and stock control departments whilst ensuring that all material delivery dates are adhered to, as required by the companies production plan.

You will support the Purchasing Manager with processing purchase orders in a timely manner to ensure suppliers have enough lead time to deliver by the required due dates for both production and aftersales, this will involve processing purchase orders using SYSPRO. You will also assist the Purchasing Manager, Stores Manager and Stock Controller to implement a fully functional live-stock system and integrated warehouse.

Duties will include

Assist the Purchasing Manager, Stores Manager, Stock Controller, Financial Controller manage the company's stock takes as required, including at the year-end.
Establish comprehensive sourcing, purchasing and inventory control processes.
Assist the Purchasing Manager, Stores Manager to ensure that the company's current shortage control procedures "SPIC" are adequately adhered to.
Attend supplier meetings with the Purchasing Manager, to Review/Renegotiate all supplier contracts to achieve significant cost savings.
Actively contribute and make suggestions on purchasing, sourcing and stock control challenges and issues.
Make suggestions were you can on streamlining and rationalisation of stock codes used in BOM's.
Assist the Purchasing Manager to Develop supply base contracts and expand scope of current areas of supply (especially on single-source contracts).
Assist the Purchasing Manager to Identify and develop potential suppliers in support of growth and operational efficiency objectives.
