As an integral part of the Supply Chain function, you will influence the business through diligent sourcing, effective supply chain management and clear communication to support the sales growth and profit of the business.

Our client is a well-established industrial manufacturer and distributor based in Pudsey. Having seen year on year growth and plans to continue growing they are looking for a Buyer to join the team.

Description

Key Activities:

Purchasing products and services to standard and bespoke specifications with an annual spend of approx. GBP1.5M
Global sourcing, re-sourcing and supply chain management
Product and market analysis to ensure competitiveness
Identifying and delivering cost saving projects
Analysis and reporting on supplier performance
Stakeholder management to deliver optimal customer serviceResponsibilities include:

Contributing to market leading stock availability
Negotiating prices and contracts with a global supply base
Supplier evaluation and management to ensure quality and timeliness of supply
Supporting the business objectives to minimise costs and grow both sales and profit
Collaborating with all other departments to ensure business requirements are achievedProfile

The successful candidate will be an experienced Procurement & Supply Chain professional with at least 5 years' experience in purchasing roles, ideally within manufacturing/engineering and/or the distribution sector.

You will have a positive self-starting attitude with a willingness to learn and commitment to professional development. The successful candidate will gain exposure to a wide variety of products and services whilst benefiting from a professional Purchasing team within an ambitious yet supportive company.

Experience of building strong supplier relationships is essential.

Wide ranging international procurement experience including business travel is desirable.

You will have been professionally trained, preferably to MCIPS or an appropriate degree level qualification.

Skills Required:

IT literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and experience in ERP software
Research & analytical with attention to detail
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Effective negotiation
A self-starting attitude and willingness to learn

GBP30-35K salary
Monday - Thursday 8.50am - 5pm, Friday 8.50am - 4.30pm
25 days holiday + bank holidays
