Purpose of job/mission:

To effectively manage an established team and have full responsibility for the Warehouse Logistics function. To effectively meet customer demands and expectations running a fast-paced Warehouse on 24/7 operation. As a Warehouse Logistics Manager you will provide management control through effective planning, organisation and communication to ensure all KPI targets are achieved. The role will involve developing the business systems to always ensure the highest level of inventory accuracy and will develop the teams to ensure system compliance. As a Warehouse Logistics Manager this will include also having full control of budgets, costs and labor within the warehouse.

Tasks & responsibilities:

Overall management of the warehouse activities on a day-to-day basis

Working with the Warehouse Support Managers ensuring accurate stock management and control across the business

System accuracy to always ensure high levels of inventory accuracy and purity across warehouse function and outside storage

Develops systems to ensure FIFO and aged stock reduction

Management of all human resources related activities including appraisal settings, disciplinaries, return to works, coaching and mentoring

Takes responsibility for Forklift truck management with outside contractor and actively supports any tendering process.

Responsible for the training of all staff within the team liaising with internal stakeholders and outside stake holders.

Work closely with internal planning to ensure accurate flow of product in and out of the business at all times.

Take responsibility for warehouse Health and Safety working closely with the Health and Safety Manager

Encourage a mind-set within the team to deliver process a continuous improvement and adding value to the customer

Ensure compliance, industry and legal standards is adhered to across the business unit

Manage available resource, ensuring day-to-day operational needs are covered.

Establish and maintain a continuous improvement programme within the warehouse operation

Monitor, manage and investigate weekly distribution performance and KPI's

Month end management, and providing timely accruals for Finance

Attend regular meetings with key stakeholders

Deliver the services within the budget provision.

Deliver the distribution strategy in support of corporate strategic plan

Experience/ Education:

* Proven people management skills, ideally within an FMCG environment.

* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills

* Effective analytical and problem-solving skills through a solid understanding of Lean techniques and principles (Kaizen,5's, Six Sigma) - Manufacturing Excellence

* Able to meet tight deadlines, ensuring quality is not compromised.

* Able to demonstrate strong, trusting relationship building, and stakeholder management & collaboration both internally and externally

* Working knowledge of PC packages, essentially MS Office suits and bespoke MIS.

* Food Safety Awareness in Manufacturing - desirable, relevant food manufacturing experience,

* Health and Safety awareness ideally NEBOSH/IOSH trained

* Very good time management skills with the ability to set priorities, fulfil critical tasks in time and keep to deadlines

* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
