a Group Security Operations (SecOps) team that is a key part of the CISO function? Against an ever-changing backdrop of sophisticated threats, our mission is to "enable the business by protecting our digital assets, our customers and our colleagues from cyber enabled crime by identifying, protecting against, detecting and responding to cyber security related threats".

Our diverse team of SecOps specialists are responsible for monitoring for the latest cyber threat intelligence, reducing the Group's attack surface and monitoring for and responding to malicious and suspicious activity across the enterprise.
The role of Cyber Defence Analyst is really important to us. You will be Reporting into the Group Head of Security Operations, this role will be responsible for protecting against, detecting, and responding to cyber security related threats.
As part of a growing team, you will play a vital role in monitoring the Group's networks, responding to alerts, handling incidents, and also working to improve the security operations capability through the use of tools and processes.
This role can be based in our Manchester, Cardiff or Reading office however, you will be able to work a blend of both home and office each week. You'll be made to feel part of your new team by your Line Manager, and colleagues through regular contact and virtual interaction.
What would your day look like?
Operating as the first line of defence for Security Operations; detecting and responding to cyber security alerts and incidents.
Oversight, monitoring and configuration of the team's Security Operations toolset.
Management, triage, and escalation of tickets within the Group's ITSM tool.
Creating and improving standard operating processes, use cases and incident response playbooks.
Creating daily security operations reports and other management information such as reports and dashboards that can be used to measure and improve the Sec Ops function.
Liaising with internal and external stakeholders as well as the Group's managed service providers.
What do we expect of you?
Experience in a similar Cyber Analyst, SOC Analyst or SecOps Analyst position dealing with common cyber threats such as phishing, malware and network attacks.
Knowledge of Microsoft technologies Windows 10 / 11, Active Directory, M365 and cloud technologies such as Azure, Amazon Web Services, Oracle cloud or Google Cloud Platform.
Worked with SIEM solutions, End point protection technologies and perimeter security controls.
To work with business users maintaining a high level of customer service to identify and resolve cyber threats efficiently and effectively.
Work with 3rd parties to analyse threats and implement security improvements to the environment.
