Position overview:

The jobholder reports directly to the Quality Manager and will liaise closely with the Manufacturing & Engineering departments within the plant and external departments such as Group Coatings and Ball suppliers. The jobholders function is to ensure that the plant Inside Spray (ISS) activities are organised and implemented and that "Drive for Improvement" is carried out in the ISS process and the ISS Area. Performs tasks and provides services to support the plant's overall business plans and objectives as directed.

Key responsibilities:

* Work within the plant systems (iTrax, SFoL)

* Lead and co-ordinate the Line Conversion activities for the ISS area.

* Control of ISS coatings & lacquers on site - ISS Lacquer

* EVA / KPI's - liaison with suppliers and internal departments and use of equipment associated with improving control

* Trials and Qualifications

* Liaison with planning and crews to ensure all labels run to budget

* Assists the Training Manager with Internal trainer for ISS & lacquer related topics

* Monitors the ISS process and identifies improvements to Process, Plant, Material Usage, Methods, Maintenance regimes & routines, Training & Skill Development of Mechanics - puts in place, coordinates and monitors closure of Corrective Action Plans

* Carry out Clean & Check Audits, monitor C&C activities

* Develop JBS's & SOPs for the ISS and Quality process

* Create & update Database for ISS related equipment

* Develop action plans to Improve Quality & Process

* Ad Hoc Project work - iTrax, etc,

* Involvement in HFI Reduction projects

Experience and skills required:

* HNC / C & G in Mechanical Engineering

* Relevant experience within high speed manufacturing environment

* Experience in ISS process as fulltime mechanic in this process.

* Lean Six Sigma Green Belt

* Knowledge of the range of all equipment and products, as well as standards quality taken at the plant

* Print process experience

* Quality Standards experience

* Work independently and in a team, effectively maintaining an atmosphere of collective work

* Ability to train colleagues in print techniques and processes

* Resolve issues and complete actions without conflict

* Plan work, prioritize tasks, complete tasks on time; concentrate and pay attention to details; easily switch to different activities.

* PC skills - (Microsoft office, SFoL, E Smart & SAP)

* Communication skills
