Senior Buyer - Pontefract - GBP34,000 - GBP37,000
Chase and Holland are delighted to be working with an International fast-growing manufacturer who are looking to strengthen their Supply Chain function with a Senior Buyer.
This is an exciting, fast paced, key contributor position. The successful candidate will be offered continued development and genuine career progression opportunities.
Senior Buyer Responsibilities:
Responsible for the maintenance and reconciliation of SCM data
Ability to manage multiple projects and objectives and respond quickly to procurement and planning support from within the company
Identify new suppliers; negotiate supply agreements and terms, including discount structures and volume rebates
Regular review of supplier pricing and analysis of performance
Maintain working professional relationships with all assigned/nominated vendors
Prepare RFQ's and negotiate cost, delivery, and lead times with suppliers
Foster close working relationships with internal cross-functional departments such as Product Management, Engineering, Quality, Sales, and Operations
Measure and manage purchasing cost, delivery, and quality performance activities
Develop warehouse capacity plans and highlight any capacity issues
Reviewing and controlling inventory planning parameters
Plan and drive implementation of stock takes of both raw materials and finished goods
Checking invoices, resolving all queries raised by finance and vendors
Develop reports to analyse and interpret KPIs to identify trends and areas of focus
Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday 8am- 5pm
Required Skills and Experience:
Advanced MS Excel skills
Working knowledge of MS Office tools and other relevant software packages such as SAP or Business Central (Dynamics NAV).
Excellent analytic skills with experience in handling big data
High level of data visualization and reporting
Ability to learn and develop new systems and processes
Excellent influencing, communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
Strong problem-solving skills backed by critical and evaluative thinking
Ability to develop and implement complex project plans, schedules, and strategies as required
Good knowledge of cost-benefit analysis of all available alternatives
Direction, training, and mentoring of junior staff members
