Join our Ships division as an Electronics Engineer and take on a meaningful role directly supporting the UK's Royal Navy.
As one of our Electronics Engineers, you will join either our Maritime Combat Systems (MCS), Ships Acquisition or Naval Ship Support (NSS) team, providing a vital service in delivering reliable, sustainable and affordable combat systems support. You'll have the chance to work across a variety of projects, supporting the UK naval fleet and military customers.
The Maritime Combat Systems (MCS) team is brought together by Engineers operating in the following technical areas: Surface Ship Combat Systems Group; Underwater and Electronic Warfare; Communications Situational Awareness and Maritime Electronic Warfare and training. Meanwhile, the Naval Ship Support (NSS) team provides engineering support to ensure Royal Navy ships are maintained and ready to fight. Our Ship Acquisition team lead the procurement of all of the Royal Navy's newest and most complex warships from the earliest stages of design.

Responsibilities
As an Electronics Engineer, you'll monitor, supervise and report technical risks, ensuring delivery and the continued safe operation of equipment and systems across the fleet. You'll support junior team members, graduates and apprentices, ensuring they develop and deliver.
Depending on role, the responsibilities of these posts may include:
* Determining customer requirements and generating technical specifications for equipment and/or systems
* Managing equipment and/or system requirements and their acceptance throughout the lifecycle
* Working within a team to support and upkeep the combat systems capability upkeep, either on a particular class of ship or across the fleet, depending on role
* Developing update and upgrade options for technology innovations
* Identifying technical options to replace equipment in a safe, timely, and cost effective manner
* Assisting with the development of engineering assurance-based documentation and overseeing assurance activities related to project
What you will be assessed against
To be successful with your application you must demonstrate that you meet the following essential criteria:
* Relevant HNC (i.e., Level 4 or higher) qualification in a STEM subject, or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience
* Experience in sensors and electronic systems and/or systems engineering and integration
* Experience in stakeholder engagement/management
