Crossroads Care Surrey is a leading charity that provides a range of support services for carers, including care replacement breaks in carers’ own homes and the community. The people we care for often have high and complex needs, and we need to ensure we can support them in a safe and person-centred way. We are looking to hire a new Clinical Care Manager with an established career in nursing, to ensure that carers/clients are recommended the correct support pathway and receive replacement care which meets exemplary levels of safety and compliance.

What will I be responsible for?

You will:

  • Work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure our regulated services are fully compliant with CQC standards and other relevant legislation.
  • Oversee the triage process of newly referred carers/clients and ensure they recommended the most appropriate support pathway.
  • Line manage our Referrals Manager and provide support to our Care Assessment Officers, overseeing assessments of people with high/complex needs or who require clinical support.
  • Review and audit client Care Plans and Risk Assessments.
  • Provide training and check the competency of frontline staff in the delivery of delegated healthcare tasks (e.g. oxygen therapy, PEG management, etc.).

Could this be the ideal role for me?

To be considered for this role, we need you to have:

  • A Registered Nursing degree or apprenticeship and a valid/current NMC Pin.
  • Experience of providing care to people with wide-ranging care and support needs.
  • The ability to develop good working relationships with team members, carers and people with care and support needs, whilst maintaining appropriate personal boundaries.
  • The ability to line manage a team.
  • Adherence to our policies and procedures, as well as national, regional and local guidance.
  • The ability to demonstrate dignity and respect for adults and children with care and support needs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A high level of IT literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word/Excel) and the ability to learn to use other digital platforms and software
  • Understanding and experience of delivering regulatory compliance.
  • Understanding of the importance of GDPR and confidentiality.
  • Understanding of the needs of Carers.
  • A full UK’s drivers’ licence, use of a roadworthy car with business insurance and a willingness to travel throughout Surrey.
  • Participation in Safer Recruitment Checks, involving past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Desirable experience:

  • Experience of training frontline staff in clinical procedures and completing competency checks.
  • Experience of using Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) techniques to de-escalate anxiety-led behaviours.
  • Experience of CQC inspections.
