Visual Data Technician
IMMEDIATE START
You at Above
An exciting opportunity has arisen for new candidates to join our expanding team at Above Surveying Ltd, a progressive and ambitious Green Tech organisation based in Colchester, Essex. This is a position that will allow the successful applicant to develop as the Company grows - the sky really is the limit!
Our ideal candidate is a motivated individual with a great eye for detail. No qualifications are needed. The role suits a variety of working backgrounds, including tech-savvy school leavers, graduates, students, or others who have a keen interest in the solar energy sector.
About Us
In 2016 Above pioneered aerial inspection techniques in utility scale solar and catalysed an industry. We then went on to introduce the concept of the digital twin to address the challenges of managing larger solar assets and portfolios.
Above is now at the forefront of a digital revolution within the rapidly growing solar industry. Our mission is to enable the industry to maximise solar PV plant performance at every stage of the asset lifecycle.
Above is an ideal place to work for individuals interested in the ever-expanding world of renewables, wanting to gain experience in a successful British tech company at the cutting edge of the 'Green economy'.
About the Role
Above provides fast, accurate and consistent health reports for large-scale Solar PV across six continents. We use drones (UAVs) to assess the heath of solar sites quickly and efficiently, from the creation process, through to continually monitoring asset health. Visual Data Technicians are integral to Above surveying, using raw drone data to produce these health reports.
Our drones use infrared cameras to image solar panels across an asset. Damaged panels and other issues can be identified by a difference in temperature. You would be trained how to analyse, identify, classify, and localise the various types of defects that can be seen using this infrared data. You would be fully trained to use our in-house software by the Quality Assurance and Training lead, meaning no previous experience is necessary, though it would be seen as a plus.
Pay
Starting at an hourly rate of GBP9.50 which increases to GBP10/hr after training is complete. Opportunities for further increases. Overtime is available and is paid at time and half.
Skills Required
* High attention to detail
* IT Literate
* Quick learner
* Ability to do focused work
* Ability to communicate and receive feedback, to produce the best possible outcome for our clients.
* Ability to work as part of a team to meet deadlines
* Positive attitude and highly motivated
Desirable
* Technical background. Either through education or through work experience in a technical environment.
* Previous experience of working with software packages (beyond Microsoft Office) to achieve a task.
Viewed positively
* Evidence of interest in renewable energy, particularly solar
** Please note that this role is office based. We do not offer remote working
