IT Manager / Senior Support Engineer, GBP34k, Oxford

Working as an IT Manager, you'll have operational responsibility for a large IT Infrastructure, leading projects, working to understand business requirements and build an IT strategy. You'll also be expected to provide day to day, BAU support to the wider business both yourself and via a small team of direct reports.
The Role
The IT Manager / Senior Support Engineer will be expected to take leadership and responsibility for the current infrastructure estate. The IT Manager / Senior Support Engineer will also be expected to act as a last line of technical support for the rest of the business. You'll also be responsible for leading a small team of Technicians, providing mentoring and leadership.
The role is perfect for a Support Engineer, 2nd Line Engineer or 3rd Line Engineer to step up in their career towards an IT Manager.
Skills Required
We're seeking an IT Manager / Senior Support Engineer who has the following skills and experience:
Supporting critical infrastructure including servers and networks
Basic understanding of networking including routers, switches and hubs
Ability to provide support to a range of peripheral devices
Providing support to desktops and a range of off the shelf software
A willingness to provide management and support to junior staff
Prior experience working directly with users.
