To produce production plans that maximise operating efficiencies whilst balancing the needs of our Customers through effective management of finished goods inventory.
To work closely with key interface departments to ensure production plans and finished goods inventory levels are consistent with overall business objectives.

This market leader operates a number of global manufacturing sites across its wider organisation alongside their manufacturing based site in Preston. Following a successful period of growth they have established a large market share and, as a result, significant investment.
They currently seek a Production Planner to lead the site's direction, strategy, planning and execution and deliver substantial forecasted growth
Description
The Production Planner will have the following responsibilities:
Preparation of daily and weekly production plans that take account of customer needs and plant resource capability
Provide forward planning visibility to Production & Material Management Controllers
Meet and maintain finished goods inventory targets whilst ensuring that accurate inventory records are maintained at all time
Identify slow and obsolescent stock in timely manner and produce follow up plans
Identify and investigate inventory discrepancies & obtain authorisation to correct
Prepare for and manage annual stocktake. Analyse results & issue agreed management reports
Establish suitable KPI's and report on regular basis, highlighting developing trends & salient points for investigation
Develop & maintain dialogue and interaction with internal departments
Attend planning & inventory related meetings to ensure early knowledge is gained on activities affecting planning roleProfile
The successful candidate for the Production Planner role will ideally have the following key skills & qualities:
Previous experience in a Production Planning role
Background in manufacturing
Sound working knowledge of SAP / MRP
Strong Excel skills
Good knowledge of inventory processes
Immediately available and open to doing a fixed-term-contractJob Offer
GBP35,000 - GBP40,000
10 month FTC with the possibility of it being extended
