A Food Manufacturing company based in Worcester are searching for a Shift Leader to join their team on a permanent basis. The company themselves are a large family run business with locations all over Europe who have been operating since 1899.
Working hours: Full Time (shift pattern 4 on 4 off rotating between days and nights.)
The daily responsibilities of a Shift Leader will include but not be limited to:
Ensure Team Leaders carry out risk assessments and that all areas are operating within the guidelines to stop any dangerous practise or hazards. Ensuring Health & Safety requirements are followed and met.
Ensure efficient use of resource covering all skill sets in each area to deliver the production schedule given per shift.
Manage and motivate the team setting SMART objectives and review with staff.
Conduct return to work interviews after absence and monitor staff attendance.
Drive production to meet targets whilst ensuring quality standards are met.
Ensure the team comply with HACCP policy and Root Cause Analysis polices.
Drive business and personal improvement initiatives and provide mentoring for team leaders.
Ensure hygiene and housekeeping standard are met and lead by example.
Identify and pro-actively look to reduce waste through shifts.
Communicate with different departments throughout the shift.
Collate KPI's to monitor performance.
Fill in shift paperwork and ensure it is completed accurately.
Development and training for members of staff.
The requirements for a Shift Leader will be:
Previous experience working as a shift leader will be essential.
Previous experience in a manufacturing in a FMCG, target driven environment will be essential.
Strong Written, spoken and listening communication skills will be essential.
Data analysis and strong problem solving with literacy and numeracy skills.
Basic engineering knowledge.
Organisation of people, plant and budget.
Previous experience coaching and developing team members.
Drive and motivate teams to achieve KPI targets identified by the Manufacturing manager.
The role of Shift Leader is on a permanent basis being paid between GBP37,000 - GBP40,000 per annum.
