Textile Mill Apprenticeship opportunity to learn engineering, textiles, machining, quality, finished goods and management. This is traditional mill developing into the modern world with latest machines and techniques. The role is in the Colne Valley and therefore we are looking people from Meltham, Holmfirth, Linthwaite, Slaithwaite areas for an easy commute.
The purpose of this apprenticeship is to learn your strengths and skills and gain experience throughout the mill understanding the full process from yarn to bespoke designer clothing. These are high profile brands with a great a worldwide reputation for finesse, quality and UK pride.
Within the first 6 months you will progress to be a Mill Operative and be rewarded with pay accordingly and progress from there to your area of talent, be that machining, quality, engineering or management.
You will have experience in assembly or machining or mechanics or other manually creative hobbies that show creativity, process or processes. The most important trait we are looking for is a desire to learn and have pride in the work you and your colleagues produce.
The hours of work are 40 hours a week on day shifts only 6-5.00pm or 7-5:00pm as standard hours with overtime after 8 hours a day, paid at time and a half.
You would be provided with great training and qualifications from Textile Manufacturing Operative and progress through the required and matched specialities from there, for example engineering modules or management. This truly is a role that adapt to your skills.
The rate of pay will be above apprenticeship rates and will increase to national minimum wage at approximately month 6 of employment. There will be a clearly defined salary progression for you as you progress with skills throughout your apprenticeship.
