Our client is an important supplier of technical ingredients for the food, feed, pharmaceutical and personal care industries. Their product experts in the different segments actively support their clients in selecting the right ingredients for the finished products they wish to produce.

Their Agri division focuses on the supply of ingredients and feed additives to both feed compounders and premixers supplying the animal nutrition industry.

Role summary

Reporting to the MD the Trader will drive the profitability and increase sales within the Animal Nutrition division, in line with agreed budgetary expectations. They will be a member of the Ireland/UK sales team and manage existing business relationships as well as introduce new clients. Additionally, the Trader will actively support the sales of ingredients from the client's stock positions. The candidate's location is flexible. The company is part of a major multinational business, which is expanding rapidly. Responsibilities

* Deliver budgeted sales and profitability in the UK and Irish market.

* Build and maintain supplier and customer relationships.

* Fully follow reporting procedures and complete CRM parameters in order to closely monitor and control the business.

* Work closely with the MD and members of the overall sales team, both locally and at European level, to achieve agreed strategies.

* Be fully responsible for all customer contact, business development and the sales process in this region.

* Manage the business to optimise customer satisfaction by ensuring timely follow up on trials/samples and commitments, including thoroughly following up on customer queries and complaints.

* Liaise with colleagues responsible for speciality feed additive sales to maximise business development opportunities.

* Attend and participate in local, UK and European sales and training meetings, as requested.

* Ensure companys quality standards are adhered to during all phases of the trade process.

Requirements

* Qualifications are open but any agricultural qualification would have particular relevance; 3rd level not a requirement as trading skills and track record are paramount.

* Ideally a track record of trading into the UK feed additives/ ingredients markets.

* A basic understanding of the Animal Nutrition market in this region, ideally across all species (current market emphasis on ruminant, monogastric and pet).

* A minimum of 5 years successful trading experience in a relevant area with a demonstration of key account management experience and entrepreneurial skills.

* Flexible approach to dealing with both suppliers and customers to ensure delivery of objectives.

* Strong prioritisation of customers for the delivery of excellent service, with pro-active and supportive attitude.

* Confident in main software systems - Word, Excel, PowerPoint and CRM.
