GSL Education are searching for an experienced or qualified Joiner to teach in a local secondary school. This role is suitable for experienced and qualified Construction workers that are searching for a career in education, or experienced and qualified Joinery teachers. If you are passionate about your trade and would be confident working with 14 - 18 year olds then this could be the job for you.
The school has excellent facilities and you would be supporting students in their future of being qualified Joiners and Construction workers. You will be given excellent support in your teaching skills and understanding curriculum if you haven't experienced being a teacher before.
Woodwork and Bench Joinery is a very popular qualification in school. The department offer Level 1, 2 and 3 City and Guilds Diplomas in the 6th Form and BTEC first level 1 and 2 in Construction and the Built Environment.
The ideal candidate will have:
QTLS or be willing to study for a teaching qualification and an Assessors Award and/or Internal Verifiers award.
the ability to teach, plan and deliver lessons of Joinery to KS4/KS5
the ability to form positive working relationships with staff and pupils
