You will be responsible for technical and programme delivery of the thermal and hydraulic analysis which will both inform and verify the SMR reactor core design. The role will involve working alongside core design and plant performance teams to understand the technical nature of the reactor core design and produce thermal hydraulic analyses which characterises system performance, informs intelligent design decisions and ultimately verifies the performance and safety of the final design.

The successful candidate will set the technical direction and strategy for core thermal analysis. They will develop the forward programme and build a small team of engineers to develop a robust and validated analysis method using industry standard codes (such as COBRA-TF), create representative models of the reactor core design, and assess both steady state and transient core performance. You will have expertise in thermal hydraulic analysis of reactor core designs and will lead the delivery of the analysis programme in accordance with requirements flowed down from the project.
