Games Certification Tester
Job Title: Certification Flex Tester
Contract type: Part of a pool of temporary workers in an ongoing assignment
Hours: 8AM - 5PM - Variable days, ad-hoc shifts of 8 hours offered based on your shared availability/client workload, up to 7 days a week
Rate: Hourly rate is the current minimum/living wage, depending on age
Location: Thames Valley Park, Reading
Start: July, date variable based on demand
Our client, based outside central Reading, has an on-going need for temporary workers to test video games. We are seeking to increase our pool of temps for these ad-hoc shifts from July. This an entirely office-based role as much of the client's work is confidential and must be carried out in a secure lab. As the assignment is flexible, there are no guaranteed shifts with this project, therefore you must live within a 1-hour travel time of the office to allow for ad-hoc changes.
Additionally, shifts are offered 1-day in advance and their frequency can vary week-to-week and month-to-month. Furthermore, as our client is open 7 days a week, a successful candidate will need to be able to work weekends on occasion. If you do well in this position you could potentially continue to be offered shifts on a regular basis for the foreseeable future.
Duties include:
Following test scripts and investigating resulting behaviour.
Writing reports and reporting results with precision.
Escalating issues to your lead. What we are looking for:
Excellent communication (written and verbal), attention to detail, time management and organisation.
Ability to work as part of team with a positive attitude.
IT competence, predominantly proficiency with MS Excel and Word.
Flexibility.
Interest in video games/game development.Requirements for the role:
Must be frequently available to work weekend.
Must be 18+ due to age-rating restrictions of the products tested.
Must have experience of playing video games. This knowledge is vital for the role.
Must be based within 1 hour's commute of the work location to allow for changes made at short notice due to the nature of the client's work. Please note:
If successful, you will be added to a pool of temps who are resourced for this role.
You will not be required to accept any offered shifts, but are you not guaranteed to be offered any either.
Shifts will be offered to you as and when available inline with the availability you share and your current level of training.
