My client have a great opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support their expanding South West painting division ,( Please do not be discouraged if you do not have painting experience this is a 'nice to have' and we welcome any transferrable sector background to apply) typically though you will be out at customers and prospective customers 3 days a week and the other 2 days can be either work from home or in office so very much hybrid .

Utilising your commercial acumen and ability to build strong client relationships, you will manage the successful delivery of their painting contracts, ensuring customer satisfaction, whilst controlling costs and profit for the business.

The Quantity Surveyor role:

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will have the opportunity to work on projects (including painting as well as minor building refurbishments works), across a variety of environments/sectors across the South West , whilst supported by an established and successful, operational, and commercial team.

Key duties will include:

* Measuring and preparing cost estimates for contracts and tenders, highlighting any risks

* Managing the pricing of tenders to maximise business wins and profitability

* Preparing cost value reconciliations for contracts, identifying commercial risks and opportunities to ensure correct contract planning

* Working closely with the Contracts Manager to ensure productivity targets are agreed and issued before contract start, including direct labour incentives

* Building strong client relations, to ensure any variations and progress of contracts are discussed

* Completing and analysing weekly reporting from site has adequate cost information

* Supporting the Business Manager and Business Development with sales and marketing activities; meetings with customers and developing tender specific method statements

What will you bring as Quantity Surveyor?

* Proven experience in a similar estimating and surveying role with estimating/ tendering experience. Please do not be discouraged if you do not have painting experience this is a 'nice to have' and we welcome any transferrable sector background to apply.

* Experience of successfully managing a volume of projects and contracts collectively you to a annual value of GBP3 million

* Enterprising spirit, with key eye for identifying business opportunities and developing key existing relationships.

* You will be analytical, organised, and honest as well as being a genuine 'people person' who relishes in communicating effectively with their clients, trade teams and immediate colleagues fostering a real 'working together' environment.
