Facilities Assistant

To work as a member of the Facilities Management Team to carry out a comprehensive range of cleaning, and portering tasks through out the London Road Community Hospital you may be required to support the catering patient feeding service.

Location: Site include Lichfield and Tamworth

Temporary: Expected to be ongoing

Hours per week: 30 - 32.5 hours per week / Shift patterns are between 9am -4pm & 2pm hours are rota'd.

Salary:

* Weekdays (Monday -Friday/6am- 8pm) GBP10.69per hour (PAYE inclusive of holiday pay)

* Weekday Evenings 8pm - 6am / Saturday GBP13.89per hour (PAYE inclusive of holiday pay)

* Sundays/Bank Holidays GBP17.10per hour (PAYE inclusive of holiday pay)

Knowledge & Skills

* Good standard of general education in numeracy reading and writing

* Comprehensive knowledge of cleaning techniques.

* Knowledge of cleaning procedures, health and safety issues & Manual handling techniques.

* Geographical lay out of the hospital.

* Working knowledge of Health and Safety including COSHH

* Good understanding with food safety requirements

* Good communication skills to ensure customer satisfaction.

* The ability to prioritise workload.

* Work as part of a team to ensure that service standards are maintained to the highest levels at all times.

* Ability to undertake an NVQ

* Physically fit and of good health

* Professional and confident

* Self motivated and ability to motivate others.

* Remains calm and level headed under pressure.

* Time keeping and reliable

KEY RESULT AREAS

* Experience of cleaning and, or in the logistics industry

* Manual handing awareness

* Maintain regular communication on a timely basis to ensure all parties are informed and work scheduled to be carried out, including any special requirements associated with the area to be serviced.

* To work as part of a team, ensuring all work is carried out efficiently and effectively.

* Liaise with Supervisors; ensuring appropriate chemicals; equipment and safety equipment are available at all times.

* Carry out work place inspections prior to commencement of work to ensure that all tasks are undertaken, ensuring all scheduled tasks are carried out and the highest standards and service have been delivered with in the agreed time
