Full Time, Permanent Post – Browning Court, Rotherham

We are seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Key Worker to join our dedicated team at our mental health supported housing project in Rotherham. We provide accommodation, advice and support to our customers with enduring mental health issues.

Our aim is to equip each customer with personal, social, vocational and practical life skills; enabling them to take control of their life and live independently within the community, whilst managing their mental health concerns.

We are looking for an individual with a real commitment to supporting our customers to achieve their aspirations and goals. The role can be challenging and is highly rewarding.

Our Benefits

• Starting salary: £20,601 per annum, pro rata
• Working Hours: 37 hours per week on a rota basis.Variable shifts including evenings and weekends (1 weekend per month and 1 week of evenings per month)

More about the role:

At Browning Court, we provide accommodation based support for people with long-term mental health problems. Customers have their own self-contained flats and the Key Worker role is to provide a compassionate service which is responsive to customers choice and needs, to enable them to live as independently as possible.This support includes:

• Supporting our customers to develop the skills necessary to maximise their independence
• Organising a range of activities including health eating activities and interactive life skills sessions
• Assisting and providing practical support to customers with rent and bills

The successful candidate would need to:

• Demonstrate an understanding of the needs and risks our customers experience and an understanding of how to develop plans of support to overcome these
• Show enthusiasm about helping others, be approachable and encouraging with customers to achieve their goals
• Confidently run customer activities including cooking, hobbies and crafts
• Ability to complete customer paperwork using a number of IT applications
• Possess a positive "Can Do" solution focused attitude to fit in with a small team and build on the successes of this excellent A rated service.
