Our highly respected Higher Education client requires a Catering Assistant on a temporary basis. This role is based in Inchinnan and has an hourly pay rate of GBP9.90 per hour. Working Hours are 8.00am - 4.00pm Monday to Friday however flexibility is required (35 hours per week).
Role Outline:
This post will be based in our AFRC building providing a range of food & beverage offers to staff and visitors. This requires to be delivered in a professional manner, whilst demonstrating excellent customer service and organisational skills.
Main Activities/Responsibilities:
Deliver consistent standards of quality, service and presentation in accordance with Departmental procedures.
To consistently deliver a high standard of customer care
To assist with basic food and beverage preparation using a range of equipment as trained, ensuring high quality products are produced
To observe and follow as trained and instructed, NMIS and University Statutory policies and procedures, with particular regard to; Health & Safety, Food Hygiene, allergen policy & COSHH
To complete associated records in relation to Food Safety Policy
To clean service and preparation areas in line with Food Safety Policy, completing required documentation. To promote food and packaging recycling policy
To assist the team with the preparation of orders to ensure sufficient stock levels are available
To assist with periodic physical stock checks as required
To contribute to the security and maintenance reporting of catering equipment and machinery to required standards of hygiene, health and safety
To maintain own personal hygiene and professional appearance, including the wearing of agreed NMIS uniform and personal protective clothing and footwear at all times
To actively gain and record customer feedback, passing to line manager as required
To cover reception duties for short periods of time to support the team, signing in visitors and issuing safety information cards where requiredSkills and Experience Required:
Passes at Standard Grade or equivalent
Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
Experience within a catering environment
Experience of preparing basic food prep
Working knowledge and experience of working within COSHH regulations
Ability to work within a team and unsupervised as required
Working knowledge of food hygiene legislation, health and safety
Ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
High standards of personal hygiene.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Courteous and pleasant manner
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to work effectively under pressure at peak times
