IT Assistant - Leading Barristers' Chambers
Our client is a leading civil and commercial legal chambers, with a modern approach to client care and home to some of the most impressive QCs and exceptional junior talent around the world, offering a range of legal services in a variety of specialisms, to a whole host of industries.
They currently seek an IT Assistant whose primary responsibility is to provide first-line IT support to Chambers' members and staff.
Job Description:
The IT Assistant has primary responsibility for providing first line IT support including troubleshooting, training and management of conferencing equipment. You will play a key role supporting the Property & IT Manager to deliver a first-class service for Chambers' clients, barristers, pupils and staff.
You will be highly organised, calm under pressure and adept at proactively managing and prioritising competing demands. You will provide an outstanding service utilising the available technology and support functions to ensure their best effect and work within Chambers' core values.
You will report to the Property & IT Manager and ultimately the Chief Executive, working closely with them and supporting all staff, members and pupils within Chambers.
Core responsibilities:
* First line IT support to barristers, pupils and staff in Chambers (both hardware and software, including Chambers' hosted desktop system as well as diary and fees management software).
* MS 365 application support and administration.
* Managing Windows/Mac/mobile devices.
* Managing the set-up of rooms for conferences, seminars, receptions, and other PR events including reorganising furniture and the provision of projectors, flipcharts, video-conferencing support and other facilities as necessary.
* Managing the set up of workstations for new users and the relocation of equipment and cabling for existing users moving desk/office as well as other shared equipment from time to time.
* Liaising with service providers as necessary on the fees and diary system, website, internet wireless connection, video conferencing and telephone system.
* Training users, including the provision of training materials, on how to use Chambers' approved applications and software.
* Liaising with the HR & Regulatory Manager and the Property & IT Manager in relation to issues of data security and IT compliance.
* Proactively promoting and assisting with electronic document management to support paperless working as far as possible.
* Providing support to team colleagues as necessary and on any other projects or initiatives as required by the Chief Executive.
* Observe confidentiality in relation to all matters in Chambers and to comply with Chambers' procedures, all relevant regulations and all relevant sections of the Code of Conduct of the Bar of England and Wales.
* Any other roles or duties as required from time to time.

Person Specification
Qualifications, experience and knowledge
5 GCSEs or equivalent including Maths and English grade C/level 4 or above essential.
A Levels preferred but not essential.
Good spoken and written English - essential
Previous experience working in an IT support role - essential
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft software inc. MS365 - essential
Knowledge of Lex - desirable
Awareness of data protection legislation and principles of data confidentiality - desirable.
Understanding of data security threats relevant to working within a legal services environment - desirable
experience of working in a professional services environment - desirable

The role includes some aspects of manual handling and working in confined spaces (eg. moving hardware and cable management underneath workstations).
