If you love coding and are interested in database and web development, this position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your technical skills and career in our IT department.
The IT department is responsible for the development and maintenance of the computing, network, audio visual and telephone facilities. As Junior Database and Web Developer, you will assist the Database Development Manager in providing a database administration service for the company databases. This will include assisting in the design, management and maintenance of databases as well as assisting in all aspects of software design, coding (including scripting) and debugging.
You will also assist in the development of modern, web-based software applications and provide a 3rd line support service for the databases and database applications.
You will need to be a meticulous coder who is not afraid to make mistakes and learn from them. You will also be hugely collaborative on projects and keen to understand the operation and administration of a complex environment.
Whilst we don't expect experience in all these areas, these are the tools you will need to learn:
* VB.Net, C#
* MS SQL
* ASP.NET, ASP.NET Core, IIS
* Blazor, HTML 5, CSS, Javascript/Jquery
* Web Forms, Windows Forms
* Powershell
* Microsoft reporting services/PowerBI/Data Warehousing
* TFS/Azure Devops Server/GIT
* Microsoft cloud services - Azure/Sharepoint/Teams
