My client is looking for a professional to undertake a range of duties to develop and maintain effective and efficient standards, policies, processes, and systems for accountancy services.
Responsibilities
* To carry out allocated work in the preparation of the annual revenue budget in accordance with the agreed timescale.
* To undertake monitoring of assigned budgets through preparing regular budgetary control reports which draw attention to significant variances.
* To provide financial advice in an understandable and professional manner to cost centre managers.
* To undertake financial research and analysis on legislative changes and on major budget development proposals from departments.
* To assist in providing financial management and accountancy services to budget holders.
* To promote corporate working, undertake projects and carry out other accountancy duties as required
Whilst the above list isn't exhaustive, to apply for this position, you will need experience of working within Local Government finance for a minimum of two years. Knowledge and understanding of accounting principles, standards and practices relevant to task associated with the job plus, knowledge of CIPFA Local Authority accounting conventions and Codes of Practice. Being part qualified CCAB (Preferably CIPFA level 1 or equivalent), or qualified technician having 3+ years' experience.
