Job Title: Train Cleaner - Night Shift at Cambridge Train Maintenance Depot/Carriage Sidings

Contract Length: 6 Month Initial Contract (Temp - Perm)

New Requirement! We have several new openings for skilled & experienced hands-on individuals, to join a leading train operating company as a Train Cleaner, to perform a range of cleaning tasks to ensure the trains are meeting the required cleanliness standards and are suitable for passenger service.

Ganymede Solutions are currently working with a recognised leader in the railway sector who has operations across three rail franchises within the UK and has an ever-growing presence within the industry.

The Candidate:

We are seeking diligent, physical, and active individuals ideally from a background of cleaning, manual labour etc???to join a leading train operating company on their busy night shift operation at the Cambridge Train Maintenance Depot/Carriage Sidings to perform a range of cleaning tasks to ensure the trains are ready & presentable for passenger service.

The Role:

Ganymede Solutions will provide you with the tools for the job; after successfully passing a Network Rail medical and drug & alcohol test, you shall be enrolled on to a 2-day PTS course (Personal Track Safety) to gain your qualification for both the AC/DC competencies. Full PPE is provided before joining the team on our weekly payroll.

As a Train Cleaner, you shall be tasked with interior train cleaning tasks such as deep cleans and full cleans (touch point cleaning, sanitising, hoovering, mopping, removing of rubbish & waste, ensuring toilets are presentable etc???) and exterior train cleaning tasks such as hand-bashing, fuelling, sanding, graffiti removal and more. This role will see you use specialist cleaning equipment & chemicals where the trains/fleets are stationed in an outdoor area, with on-the-job training provided.

This role may lead to a permanent position in the future, with opportunities to progress as a Team Leader, Duty Leader and more within the train presentation area of the business. However, with the organisation experiencing huge growth plans, there are also opportunities to progress within engineering, customer service and other key areas of the business.

Requirements:

A highly desired & skilled role requires you to demonstrate a strong work ethic, effective communication skills, reliability, and flexibility to work permanent nights on both weekdays and weekends as part of a 7-night roster schedule. Working hours are 22:00 pm - 05:00am with other every weekend to be worked in your shift pattern with rest days during the week for any weekends worked.

Rates of Pay and Working Hours:

Standard Hours (35 hours standard per week) - GBP11.23 p/h
Overtime and Rest Days - GBP16.73 p/h
Sunday Nights - GBP19.52 p/h
