1st Line IT Technician
We have an exciting opportunity for a 1st Line IT Technician to play a key role in the IT support team at our leading independent day school in the heart of Oxford. You will also be part of a wider group of GDST schools and Head Office with a very active and supportive IT community.
As the 1st Line IT Technician, you will be the first point of contact in providing technical support and advice to staff and students, as well as supporting a wide range of activities and events across three school sites. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to improving IT procedures and policies, and school and trust wide projects with opportunities for professional development.
As a school we are keen to invest in the technologies that make the most difference in the classroom and are not tied to any particular solution. You will therefore be supporting a wide range of hardware and software which requires a flexible approach to problem solving.
To be successful in this role, you will be a proactive problem solver with some experience of delivering customer focused IT services and be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience of using and supporting at least some of the following:
- Windows operating system and update deployment using SCCM
- Microsoft active directory and group policy

- Chrome, Windows, iOS and macOS devices
- Enterprise wireless and VOIP systems
- Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace software
- Enterprise anti-virus and endpoint protection
- Data backup and recovery systems
- Print management and accounting systems (e.g. Papercut)
- IT Helpdesk Management Systems
IT is central to the whole process of teaching and learning at the School. If you have the knowledge and skills we require, we would be delighted to hear from you.
