These Manufacturing Biotechnologist positions are well suited individuals with prior experience in Manufacturing in a highly regulated industry, those with prior experience in Pharmaceuticals or Biologics, or recent HNC/HND/BSc graduates looking to establish a career in the advanced therapies sector.
The Role:
Reporting to a Lead Manufacturing Biotechnologist, you will join the rapidly expanding Manufacturing team and be responsible for the delivery of a range of cell and gene therapy manufacturing projects on a timely basis. Upon commencing your employment, you will join our industry-leading Training Academy for an intensive programme covering mammalian cell culture, cleanroom operations and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) before transitioning into the Biotechnologist role.
Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for performing a range of activities in support of the delivery of different cell and gene therapy products, meeting all the required quality and regulatory standards and developing the service in line with clinical and customer needs. Work at RoslinCT is fast paced, and no two days are the same - to this end, your responsibilities will be varied, but will include;
* Performing the manufacture of cellular and gene therapies according to GMP within a controlled clean room environment.
* Ensuring compliance with all Health & Safety policies and embracing a Safety First culture.
* Completing quality related documentation to a high standard, including batch production records, change controls, incidents/deviations and risk assessments in accordance with GMP and standard operating procedures.
* Preparation and maintenance of standard operating procedures, batch records and standard forms for batch manufacture.
* Preparation of formal documentation for new projects to enable developments to be introduced in a suitably controlled manner.
* Ensure that confidentiality of all information relating to clients and patients is maintained at all times.
* Occasional communication of procedures and results with clients, and demonstration of excellent customer service skills for both internal and external customers.
* Plan and undertake the Validation of new Manufacturing processes and equipment.
* Ensuring compliance with all Health and Safety policies and procedures.
* Provision of out of hours cover for critical equipment alarms as required on a rotational basis.
* Routine qualification, calibration and maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
* Supporting with the daily Manufacturing housekeeping activities, including but not limited to cleaning, stock control and ordering materials.
* Working on a shift pattern (exact shifts TBC, but likely to rotate between Mon-Fri 9am-5pm, Mon-Fri 7am-3pm, Mon-Fri 11am-7pm and weekend work).
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will hold a HNC, HND or BSc in a Life Science discipline, or equivalent Manufacturing experience.
Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
* Experience working in a GMP cleanroom manufacturing environment is desirable, although not essential.
* Effective communication skills in report writing/recording outputs, engaging with colleagues at all levels and professional liaison with customers.
* Excellent computer skills with experience in Microsoft Word and Excel.
